in these green fields, floats the
green ocean
as vast and sprawling as the spaces between us.
as lush and vibrant as your youth, and how you imagined it would last forever.
you clung onto the metal,
swinging,
swinging,
swinging,
swinging,
til one day, you realized
you could not take flight into the cosmos.
the spaces you once soared in, flying kites and wishing to fly with them. instead, running freely as you set the string loose.
for those moments, you and your owl ruled the world.
the coarseness of the playground pebbles beneath your feet.
only now to spend your days dancing away at those black keys.
you never realized, you would never be the same again. why didn’t you hold on tighter, like you clung onto the kite?
the years took flight.
we dreamt, and dream,
in these green fields.
